About this activity

Guided Ski Touring in Abisko

Experience the magic of guided ski touring in Abisko, where vast untouched mountains and world-class off-piste runs await. This tour is perfect for anyone who wants to try ski touring for the first time or join a professional mountain guide to discover the best slopes and snow conditions of the day.

In the heart of northern Lapland, Abisko offers some of Sweden’s most spectacular backcountry terrain. From beginner-friendly tours to challenging routes for advanced skiers, you’ll find incredible descents from nearly every mountain peak visible from the road. With no ski lifts in the area, the best way to enjoy Abisko’s pristine mountain sides is to earn your turns — putting on your alpine touring skis and ascending at your own pace while soaking in breathtaking Arctic views.

Each tour’s location varies depending on your ski level, snow conditions, and weather, ensuring the best possible experience for every guest. Our experienced ski touring guides are avalanche-trained through SWELAV and specialize in safe route planning, winter mountain navigation, and rescue techniques for avalanche situations. You can read more about SWELAV trainings and certifications here.

Prerequisites:

  • Confident skiing on at least a red-marked piste.

  • Moderate fitness level — ski touring is an active and sweaty adventure where you’ll be moving for most of the day.

Join us for an unforgettable ski touring adventure in Abisko, where untouched powder, Arctic silence, and professional guidance create the ultimate off-piste experience.
